Daheco Engines & Energy, LLC was originally founded in 2009 under the name Daheco Engines Inc. to develop the founder’s piston engine technologies into a new class of IC engines with improved efficiency, lower emissions, and greatly increased fuel economy.  Nine patents were awarded both domestically and internationally.  However, Daheco struggled to make any headway into the automotive markets and was rejected by many of the OEMs.  Daheco Engines was solely owned by its Founder, W. Daniel Hamby, who was the inventor of all of the engine technologies and sole owner of a Consultancy, Aircle Tech Inc.  In 2015, due to the amount of debt acquired by Daheco from Aircle, the Founder closed Daheco Engines Inc. and rolled the debt and assets into Aircle as a separate division to preserve its patents and engine developments.  Fast forward to 2019 and the Covid shutdown.  As a consultancy, Aircle found itself having difficulty servicing its existing clients due to the no-in-person-contact requirement of the Federal & State(s) shutdown.  It was also impossible to develop new clients.

After nearly 20 years of developing new and patentable products for other companies Aircle’s CEO, Mr. Hamby, turned the Company’s direction inward to develop something new for itself.  During that time ICE vehicles were losing favor with the World governments and EVs were gaining favor.  Mr. Hamby, being a continuous innovator/inventor, found a method of marrying electromotive technologies with Daheco’s engine technologies where a symbiotic relationship between electric current and gas expansion enhanced both.  He called this marriage “Airlectric™” or Airlectrification.  Still there was no immediate market for this new Airlectric CPD engine until the power went out (literally his electric power went out).  Mr. Hamby looked at his technology in a new light; could it be used to offer energy security?  Answer; YES!

In 2022, Aircle spun off its Daheco division as Daheco Engines & Energy, LLC to create a new class of energy storage that used no batteries.  The NBESSH or Non-Battery Energy Storage System + Heat technology was developed along with several new patented components.  Multiple grants were awarded under North Carolina’s SBIR incentive solicitation. Additionally, the US Department of Homeland Security selected this technology as a finalist in its Power for Hours competition.

As of 7/11/2025 Daheco has opened its order books for reservations on its XESS (eXtended Energy Storage Systems) product lines that incorporate the NBESSH technology into deliverable products for home, business, industry, automotive, and the electric grid system.
